History
Legend says that a title "Richvale" (meaning "fertile valley") was coined by con men to sell worthless plots of land to Dust Bowl farmers during a Great Depression. Farmers in the Midwest were shown lush pictures of California's San Joaquin Valley and Central Valley and sold land at outrageous prices. A soil near Richvale is nothing like a fertile soil of the San Joaquin Valley, being comprised mostly of clay instead of loam. A locals call for a soil "adobe" due to its high clay content. A land is unsuitable for vineyards, orchards, and virtually all more crops. A bit of purchaser took 1 view a soil & returned to the Midwest.
Numerous stayed & tried farming a land. Due to the soil's ability to locate the water system & remain flooded (referable its high clay content), a ground makes a touching-ideal rice paddy, and rice has be a primary crop of the locality. Irrigation is provided by surface water supply from either a plentiful Feather River.
